Takes 30 seconds. Name it, pick how it looks, and you're in. No credit card required to start.
Your partner, your kids. That's your nest. Extended family can get updates without needing an account — more on that in a second.
One journal entry. One voice memo. One sentence. Future you will be embarrassingly grateful.
Start with your household. Expand if you want. Keep it yours either way.

Every feature in your Nest can be toggled on or off. Your family writes stories and saves recipes but doesn't care about artwork? Toggle it off. Your kids are obsessed with baseball? Turn on the Stadium Tour. You're mapping every concert you've ever been to? There's a feature for that too.
These are just a few. We're always adding more, and your Nest grows with you. What you see here is what one family chose. Yours will look completely different.
Your Nest only shows what you've chosen. Nothing extra. Nothing in the way.

Our Story
I'm not a journaler. Never have been. Too much setup, not enough payoff, and the second you fall behind it starts to feel like homework. The consistency thing is what gets you. Miss a few days and suddenly you're in debt to a notebook. And carrying one around everywhere? That never stuck either. At least before everything went digital there was some charm to the idea of it. Now it just feels like one more thing to keep track of.
But there were things I didn't want to lose. Jodi sings a song to the boys every night before bed. My grandfather recorded himself reading The Night Before Christmas, same voice, every single year. My dad and I have been chasing MLB stadiums together for as long as I can remember. My kids say things at dinner I swear I'll remember. I don't. I also always wanted a map of everywhere our family has lived, traveled, and called home.
None of it had one place to live. Group chats bury it. Facebook isn't private. Individual apps do one thing. Nothing held all of it together, for just us, without an audience.
So I built it. First for my own family. Then realized it wasn't just us.
One private place for the journals, photos, voice memos, maps, recipes, and stories that would otherwise disappear. No ads. No algorithm. Just your family.
I don't show ads. Ever. Not even tasteful ones.
I don't sell your data. I don't 'anonymize' it and sell it. I don't even look at it. It's yours.
No algorithm. No ads. No one deciding what your family sees.
Permanent, not disappearing stories
Built for your household first. Share outward on your terms.
You don't have to move everything at once. Start with what matters most. The rest can come over time.
We could say that. But you've read that sentence from companies who were actively selling your search history, so it doesn't mean much anymore.
Here's what we actually do: Your photos stay yours. We don't train AI on them. We don't show you ads. We don't build a profile on your family. There's no “free tier that's actually you being the product.” The free tier is just... free.
If that sounds like a low bar, you're right. But apparently someone had to clear it.
A lot of apps are learning this the hard way right now. We built it this way from day one.
Not the same thing
Social media is great for connecting with the world. Family Nest is for something different.
Who can see your content
Anyone. The world. Strangers.
Only the family members you invite.
What controls what you see
An algorithm optimizing for your attention.
Chronological. What your family added. That's it.
Why it was built
To keep you on the platform as long as possible.
To help you remember what matters.
How it makes money
Ads. Powered by your family's data and behavior.
Subscriptions. Your data is never for sale.
Your kids
Exposed to strangers, algorithms, and advertisers.
Seen only by family. No exceptions.
What happens to your memories
Buried in a feed. Gone in 24 hours. Or deleted when the platform decides.
Permanent. Searchable. Yours to export anytime.
Loved by families
For the parents building it, the kids growing up in it, and the moments worth keeping.
Stories represent typical customer experiences.
“As a mom, it’s everything I want for my kids, saved in one place.”

“I set up the Nest, uploaded 20 years of our favourite family photos, invited everyone, and wrapped the login on a card. My mom cried. My wife said it was the best gift I’d ever given. It cost less than a large bouquet of flowers.”
Daniel R.
Dad & Nest creator · Portland, OR
“We tried a family group chat. Then a shared album. Then nothing stuck. The Nest is the first thing everyone actually uses. Even my dad, who still calls it ‘the family website.’ He checks it every morning.”
